Job summary

The Virginia Transplant Center at Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Transplant Nephrologist and Medical Director to join our Adult Kidney Transplant Program.

Oversight of medical aspects of pre- and post-transplant care, evaluation of living donors, and active involvement in QAPI initiatives are core responsibilities. Leadership duties include program development, outreach, and referral growth.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Program and a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship.
• Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
• Virginia State Medical License eligibility or licensure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee medical aspects of pre- and post-transplant care for kidney transplant candidates/recipients, inpatient and outpatient.
• Evaluate and provide post-donation care for living donor candidates.
• Participate in transplant-specific QAPI initiatives per CMS regulations and UNOS policies.
• Collaborate with Program Director, Transplant Administration, and Hospital leadership on clinical operations and program growth.
• Perform administrative duties to develop the kidney transplant program, improve community outreach, and increase referrals.
