Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time Clinician-Educator in Transplant Infectious Diseases (TID) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The role is within the Division of Infectious Diseases in Internal Medicine.

The successful applicant will provide inpatient consults and outpatient follow-up, contribute to education and scholarship, and collaborate with VCUHealth’s Hume-Lee Transplant Center and Massey Cancer Center to advance

Qualifications

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Infectious Diseases.
• Eligible for appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia.
• Experience in prevention, evaluation and management of infections in immunocompromised patients (transplant/oncology).
• Commitment to professionalism and civility with diverse faculty, staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated TID inpatient consultation and outpatient follow-up.
• Support high-acuity medical and surgical patients at VCUHealth.
• Contribute to education and mentoring of medical students, residents and fellows.
• Engage in scholarship, quality improvement and collaborative care delivery.
• Participate in multidisciplinary efforts to support Hume-Lee transplant and Massey Cancer Center.
