Transplant Hepatology / Hepatology Physician
StartDate: ASAP Pay Rate: $430000.00 - $600000.00
University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking hepatologists and transplant hepatologists interested in helping build the next chapter of hepatology care on the Gulf Coast.
UTMB has identified hepatology as its highest-priority recruitment focus and is making a significant institutional commitment to hepatology expansion, including development of a future liver transplant program, expanded liver disease services, recruitment of additional transplant-focused specialists, and substantial investment in clinical and research infrastructure.
This position offers far more than a traditional faculty role. The incoming physician will have the opportunity to shape clinical strategy, participate in program development, collaborate with emerging transplant leadership, and help create a comprehensive hepatology service that will serve a rapidly growing patient population.
UTMB offers a unique opportunity to join a division that is actively investing in the future of gastroenterology and hepatology. Physicians can build meaningful academic careers while maintaining a strong clinical practice, participating in fellowship education, developing subspecialty expertise, and contributing to the growth of an institution committed to innovation, collaboration, and long-term success. The combination of academic opportunity, clinical complexity, institutional support, and Greater Houston lifestyle flexibility creates a compelling destination for gastroenterologists seeking lasting impact.
