Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a registered nurse for the 8A Surgical/Transplant Unit at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, a 38-bed telemetry unit serving abdominal transplant and colorectal surgical patients. Kidney and liver transplant care, plus trauma overflow, are part of this role.

Qualifications

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical assessment skills and care planning.
• Provides safe and effective care per regulatory requirements.
• Directs and manages the activities of the patient care delivery by the team.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team for the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
