Join our innovative, supportive, and highly collaborative Government Programs team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on both 340B and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement initiatives, helping to grow our programs and optimize financial performance in a meaningful healthcare environment. About the Role
The Transplant Finance team is a close-knit, collaborative group supporting one of the nation’s highest-volume transplant centers, performing over 500 transplants annually. With deep expertise in insurance and government regulations, the team is dedicated to ensuring patients have the best possible financial pathway to transplantation.

This position serves as the clinical interface for financial matters related to solid organ transplantation. In alignment with UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) requirements, each transplant center must designate a professional responsible for minimizing financial barriers to transplant services. The Transplant Financial Coordinator fulfills this role by ensuring patients receive the highest level of financial coverage while supporting optimal reimbursement for the institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and communicate cost and quality issues related to the transplant evaluation and listing process to both medical and non-medical professionals, as well as patients.
  • Communicate and resolve conflicts with physicians, healthcare team members, business/managed care/governmental agencies, insurance company representatives, self-funded employer decision makers, human resource departments, and transplant patients and donors.
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with the clinical transplant team, business office, and transplant administration to support process improvements.
  • Work independently and complete job duties autonomously.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Lead or contribute to project management efforts as needed.
  • Develop and implement creative solutions to unique or complex situations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license required.
  • Experience in managed care, utilization review, and/or care coordination or case management preferred.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations related to the patient population, as well as Standards of Practice for Case Management.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and initiative.
  • Demonstrated complex problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Project management experience preferred.
