Job description

Help make transplantation more accessible by guiding patients through one of the most complex and consequential parts of their care journey. As a Transplant Financial Coordinator you will bring clarity to insurance coverage, financial planning, and authorization requirements so patients and clinical teams can move forward with confidence.

This is an opportunity to apply your knowledge of healthcare insurance in a role where accuracy, responsiveness, and compassion directly support patient access and transplant outcomes. You will join a patient-focused team working to meet growing transplant needs while delivering a thoughtful and coordinated experience.

The Role

The Transplant Financial Coordinator serves as a key connection among patients, insurers, and the multidisciplinary transplant team. You will meet patients beginning with their initial visit, help them understand the financial aspects of transplantation, and establish a plan for securing required transplant authorizations.

This is a busy, high-priority environment where circumstances can change quickly, and effective prioritization is essential. An average day may include:

  • Meeting with transplant patients and families to discuss insurance coverage, financial expectations, and next steps.
  • Developing individualized financial plans that help patients navigate the transplant process.
  • Coordinating transplant request authorizations and following issues through resolution.
  • Reviewing insurance information for accuracy, identifying potential coverage barriers, and communicating concerns promptly.
  • Partnering with clinical, administrative, and payer contacts to keep patient cases moving forward.
  • Managing multiple time-sensitive priorities while maintaining clear, professional documentation and communication.
  • Providing compassionate, patient-centered support during a complex and often stressful healthcare experience.

The successful candidate will combine insurance knowledge, sound judgment, organization, and professional communication with a results-driven approach. You will thrive here if you can manage competing demands, remain attentive to detail, and keep the patient's needs at the center of every interaction.

This is a full-time position that is primarily onsite, with some work-from-home flexibility based on team and operational needs.
