Job summary

Somnia Anesthesia is seeking a Transplant Anesthesiologist to join our growing team at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The role involves anesthesia for liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation within a busy academic environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with high-acuity transplant patients and will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional perioperative care in a physician-led ACT model.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Eligible for Tennessee Medical Licensure; DEA Registration.
• Experience providing anesthesia for liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation or complex hepatobiliary procedures.
• Demonstrated experience managing high-acuity patients and advanced intraoperative hemodynamic management.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for liver, kidney, pancreas, and other abdominal transplant procedures.
• Direct perioperative management of massive transfusion and complex coagulopathy.
• Collaborate closely with transplant surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, intensivists, CRNAs, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead perioperative planning for transplant recipients and complex surgical patients.
• Document anesthesia care in accordance with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and Somnia standards.
