Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Transmission Workplace Services Manager to lead preventive and predictive maintenance for office buildings and service centers in the region. The role involves space planning, furniture management, and coordinating mail, printing, and cafeterias, while prioritizing projects based on funding from OPCos or Corporate Planning and Budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in facilities or construction management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical and mechanical systems (HVAC).

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to Workplace Service Supervisors and Operations Coordinators and contractors to ensure preventive and predictive maintenance activities are safely conducted at AEP office buildings and service centers.
• Ensure procurement of goods and services complies with AEP accounting and procurement guidelines and Audit requirements.
• Ensure space utilization is accurately tracked to allow for appropriate charges to the business units.
• Oversee remodeling projects, employees' moves, and ensure furniture inventories are appropriately sized and monitored.
• Provide direction to Print, Mail, and/or Food Service coordinators to ensure operations are safe and cost-effective.
• Monitor O&M and Capital budgets allocated to the region.
• Foster open lines of communication with all levels of management regarding issues related to the function listed above.

Job Summary

Manage all aspects of the preventive and predictive maintenance functions for AEP office buildings and service centers in an assigned region. This includes ensuring the effective use of space, managing employee moves through effective space planning and management of furniture inventories. Additionally, manage a variety of functions within these facilities that may include mail and printing services and cafeterias. The incumbent is responsible for effectively managing O&M and Capital budgets and for providing ongoing prioritization of projects that could be accomplished in the event additional funding is made available from OPCos or Corporate Planning and Budgeting.

What You’ll Do

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business Administration or other related fields.
• Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in facilities or construction management.

Other Requirements

• Physical demand level is Sedentary
• International Facilities Management Association’s (IFMA) designations are desirable such as FMP or CFM.
• Position requires travel around the region as needed and occasional travel to Columbus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Should have fundamental understanding of electrical and mechanical systems (HVAC).

• Compensation Range: $136,539.00 - $177,503.00
