Qualifications

• Professional automotive repair experience required.
• Previous dealership experience required.
• Strong background in transmission diagnosis, repair, and service preferred.
• Ford/Lincoln certification is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Solid mechanical and diagnostic abilities.
• Comfortable using electronic diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and specialty service equipment.
• Able to read and apply technical repair information, specifications, and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accurate, high-quality repairs.
• Able to communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Parts personnel, technicians, and management.
• Willing to participate in ongoing technical training and maintain required certifications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair transmission and drivetrain concerns on customer vehicles.
• Use scan tools, diagnostic equipment, service information, and testing procedures to identify problems and determine the proper repair.
• Perform transmission removal, installation, rebuilding, servicing, and component replacement as required.
• Follow repair orders and complete assigned work accurately and efficiently.
• Inspect related vehicle systems and identify additional repairs when necessary.
• Perform road tests to confirm repairs and ensure the vehicle is operating properly.
• Work closely with Service Advisors to explain diagnostic results, repair needs, and recommended services.
• Coordinate with the Parts Department to source the correct components and materials for each repair.
• Record diagnostic results, parts used, and completed repairs accurately on repair orders.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures, specifications, and dealership quality standards.
• Keep current with technical service bulletins, factory updates, and changes in repair procedures.
• Complete required manufacturer and dealership training to stay up to date with new vehicle technology.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and protect the customer’s vehicle while it is being serviced.
• Properly maintain tools, equipment, and shop areas.
• Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as directed by management.
