Job description

Lead teams in building the foundations that support Houston's transmission infrastructure.

Pilot Foundation Services is hiring an experienced Transmission Superintendent to oversee multiple transmission foundation projects, lead assigned foremen, coordinate field resources, and provide the technical direction needed to deliver safe, productive, high-quality work throughout the Greater Houston area.

About Pilot Foundation Services

Pilot Foundation Services builds foundations for energy infrastructure, including large-diameter drilled shafts, direct embedment, structure supports, equipment pads, and related site preparation. We serve leading power-transmission, substation/switchyard, renewable-energy, and midstream contractors while upholding our values: Operate with Integrity, Expect Excellence, and Commit.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee multiple Houston-area transmission foundation and drilled-shaft projects and the foremen assigned to them.
  • Plan project execution with Operations, Project Management, and field leadership, including schedules, manpower, equipment, materials, logistics, risks, and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight for large-diameter drilled shafts, direct embeds, casing installation and slurry processing, rebar cages, stub angles, anchor bolt templates, concrete placement, and site restoration.
  • Review work plans and production goals, coordinate crews and resources, monitor progress, and resolve field constraints without sacrificing safety or quality.
  • Ensure work and required QA/QC documentation comply with drawings, specifications, contracts, customer standards, and company expectations.
  • Lead safety performance and coach, evaluate, and hold foremen accountable for crew safety, quality, productivity, conduct, and jobsite execution.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible field experience in transmission, utility, foundation drilling, heavy civil, concrete, or related construction.
  • Previous leadership responsibility as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, Foreman, General Foreman, or comparable field leader.
  • Experience overseeing crews, foremen, or multiple projects and coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, schedules, safety, and quality.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: transmission foundations, large-diameter drilled shafts, direct embeds, slurry processing, casing installation, concrete anchor bolt foundations, and utility infrastructure.
  • Ability to interpret civil and structural drawings, specifications, structure lists, pier schedules, and work instructions.
  • Strong leadership, planning, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to report to active project sites throughout Greater Houston.
  • Ability to pass applicable pre-employment background, motor vehicle record, and drug screening requirements.
Preferred
  • Transmission line, substation/switchyard, renewable-energy, or utility foundation construction experience.
  • Large-diameter drilled shafts, casing, slurry processing, concrete placement, direct embeds, stub angles, or related deep-foundation experience.
  • OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certifications.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, scheduling tools, or construction reporting systems.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Annual Salary: $120,000-$150,000 base, paid weekly. The posted range is made in good faith and may be adjusted to align with selected candidate's applicable experience and qualifications.
  • Local Position: Houston-area project work with no out-of-area or overnight travel required.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including:
    • Medical, vision, dental, telehealth, and mental-health coverage for employees and dependents
    • Annual Paid Time Off
    • Bonus Program
    • 401(k) and Roth retirement plan options
    • Company-paid long-term disability, life, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance
    • Voluntary plans are available, including short-term disability, accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and additional voluntary life insurance for employees and dependents.
