Automotive Transmission Rebuilder

Position Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair automotive transmission systems to specifications - knowledge of electrical and computer systems is a plus.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, which may include other teammates and customers as required.
• Remove and reinstall transmission systems.
• Assist other technicians in performing technical activities.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in informal training sessions to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized service department.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working as an Automotive Transmission Rebuilder.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Own professional grade tools.
• Experience with mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience specific to transmission rebuilding.
• Ability to communicate solutions to others.
• ASE certifications a plus.
• Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
