Job summary

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is expanding with a Nebraska office and is seeking a Transmission Project Manager to lead design, budgeting, scheduling and execution of transmission line projects across the U.S.

The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS in Civil Engineering with 10+ years of project engineering experience, plus 2+ years in project management. PE license and PMP preferred; travel may be required; sponsorship not offered.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering; 10+ years' project engineering experience; 2+ years of demonstrated project management and leadership experience; PE license and PMP certification are preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; commitment to quality and accuracy; ability to meet fast-paced project schedules.
• May require travel; sponsorship for employment visas not available now or in the future; ability to coordinate across multiple technical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization.
• Scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, executing, monitoring and reporting of transmission line projects and proposals.
• Oversee project teams of engineers, designers, drafters and support staff; ensure adherence to ECIs quality control procedures.
• Interact with client and other project stakeholders; coordinate with Substation Engineering, Transmission Studies, Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way and Project Management/Controls.
• Provide technical mentorship and training of project staff.

Description: Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.

ECI is opening an office in Nebraska in one of the cities listed above and has an opening for a transmission project manager. This is a great opportunity to help start and grow a new office location.

Responsibilities include the conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization. Additional responsibilities include the scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, executing, monitoring and reporting of transmission line projects and proposals. A Project Manager oversees a project team (or teams) of engineers, designers, drafters and support staff. Project Managers diligently execute ECI's quality control procedure, ensuring best-in-class project execution and delivery. Project Managers interact with and coordinate ECI's subject matter expert discipline groups such as Substation Engineering, Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls to ensure successful execution of assigned projects. Project Managers are ECI's primary interface with clients and other project stakeholders. Project Managers provide technical mentorship and training of project team design staff.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, 10+ years' project engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience; 2+ years of demonstrated project management and leadership experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness and ability to meet fast-paced project schedules. A PE license and PMP certification are preferred. The successful applicant must have an advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principals, be expert regarding applicable codes, standards and design tools, and have the ability to direct and oversee multiple technical disciplines in the completion of transmission line projects. The ability to resolve conflicting priorities and schedules is expected. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.
