Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking an entry-level Project Coordinator to assist the Project Manager in monitoring and controlling projects across transmission, substation, and related work. You will help ensure deliverables meet scope, cost and schedule, coordinating with contractors, engineers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• BS degree in business, engineering, finance, construction management or related field is required.
• Non-degreed candidates with 4+ years of relevant PM experience or 2 years of transmission experience may be considered.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical ability.
• Team player willing to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel to assigned project locations throughout the service territory.

Responsibilities

• Review documents for clarity and completeness and assist in development of project documents.
• Review project and contract budgets for adequacy and completeness.
• Assist the Project Manager in monitoring cost variances and forecasts.
• Coordinate change management requests for scope, schedule and costs.
• Participate in weekly coordination meetings with contractors, engineers and suppliers.
• Monitor contractor resource levels and understand contract terms.
• Support schedule development, updates and closeout documentation.
• Identify additional resources to meet project scope or schedule.
• Maintain project files to support closeout and lessons learned meetings.
• Audit projects to verify objectives and benefits realization.
