A global engineering firm is seeking a Junior Transmission Planning & Studies Engineer in Denver. You will be responsible for conducting various power system studies and interfacing with project teams. The ideal candidate has a BSEE degree and a strong background in electrical engineering with effective communication skills. This individual will be responsible for interfacing with other engineers in the preparation of computer-based models and performing power system studies on utility transmission/distribution systems and industrial/commercial electrical power systems, including: feasibility studies, system impact studies, reactive compensation studies, protective relay settings, critical clearing time, stability (transient & dynamic), long/short range planning studies, short circuit, load flow, motor starting, power factor correction, and other related studies.
This person must be able to self-manage, with a strong conceptualization ability and strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills – including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams.
Requires a BSEE
Two (2) + years of experience in electrical engineering system studies
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills including proposal writing, report writing, and other technical writing
Experience with PSSE, PSLF, or other equivalent software packages
Experience with TARA steady-state preferred
Willing to travel (10% or more at times)
Ability to work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment
EIT registration (or equivalent)
MSEE
EMT software experience is a plus

Base Salary Range: $80k - $108k
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual\'s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike.
