Roles and Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for interfacing with other engineers in the preparation of computer-based models and performing power system studies on utility transmission/distribution systems and industrial/commercial electrical power systems, including: feasibility studies, system impact studies, reactive compensation studies, protective relay settings, critical clearing time, stability (transient & dynamic), long/short range planning studies, short circuit, load flow, motor starting, power factor correction, and other related studies.

This person must be able to self-manage, with a strong conceptualization ability and strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills – including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams.

Required Education/Experience
  • Requires a BSEE

  • Two (2) + years of experience in electrical engineering system studies

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills including proposal writing, report writing, and other technical writing

  • Experience with PSSE, PSLF, or other equivalent software packages

  • Experience with TARA steady-state preferred

  • Willing to travel (10% or more at times)

  • Ability to work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment

Desired Education/Experience
  • EIT registration (or equivalent)

  • MSEE

  • EMT software experience is a plus

Base Salary Range: $80k - $108k

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual\'s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike.
