Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Transmission Planning Operations Engineer to independently coordinate long-term and short-term planning for outages and project schedules across MISO and PJM. You will manage model updates, maintain compliance with NERC/MISO/PJM standards, and support outage coordination to minimize risk to project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years in the electric utility industry.
• Ability to perform analysis and deliver engineering outputs without supervision.
• Passing Grade on Fundamentals of Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a coordinated construction project list and schedule in Primavera P6 across project stages.
• Review consultant schedules and ensure schedule fidelity.
• Support annual prioritization of projects and long-lead planning.
• Evaluate changes under NERC Management of Change and route for approval.
• Support three-year and one-year operational planning horizons for outages.
• Coordinate outage planning inputs with System Operations and PMO.
• Manage MISO and PJM models and reflect changes in tickets.
• Assist the Transmission Operations Center during emergencies to restore energization.
