Job Title: Transmission Line Engineer (Subject Matter Expert)

Job Description

The Transmission Line Engineer (SME) position is a technical role focused on all aspects of transmission line design and construction. The applicant will actively participate in team meetings and projects, requiring strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. This role involves providing technical guidance and leadership to less experienced team members while ensuring accurate and timely responses within project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional technical support to Project Engineering teams while managing project schedules and budgets.

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of transmission lines, teamwork, and engineering judgment to address project Requests for Information.

  • Develop, interpret, and implement transmission line standards.

  • Lead and mentor Project Engineers to enhance their understanding of technical requirements.

  • Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement within the team.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering with deep knowledge of at least one transmission discipline.

  • Minimum of 8 years of technical support experience in transmission line projects at 230kV or above.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas both verbally and in writing.

  • Aggressive and team-oriented mindset.

  • Assertive leadership qualities demonstrated through project work.

  • Proven ability to work with diverse teams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency.

  • Ability to make informed independent decisions that are not regularly subject to technical review.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer certification is preferred.

  • Willingness to learn new skills and work outside of one's comfort zone.

Work Environment

This is a remote position with occasional travel to Juno Beach as needed. The work hours are typically 9-5 EST, Monday through Friday, regardless of the applicant's time zone. Applicants must have a dedicated workspace free from distractions to succeed in this remote role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
