Position Overview

This position offers the opportunity to apply your knowledge of transmission line engineering, including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles. Responsibilities include:

1. Designing transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
2. Performing structural analysis and design of various structures.
3. Conducting foundation designs.
4. Studying conductor selection, shielding, grounding, and induction.
5. Developing cost estimates, schedules, and specifications for procurement.
6. Specifying transmission line components.
7. Modeling transmission lines in PLS-CADD, determining right of way requirements, and developing plans and profiles.
8. Reviewing vendor submittals.

This role features a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in the office and two remote days. A generous relocation package is available depending on your location.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

• Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Related engineering, internship, or co-op experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• 3+ years of transmission line engineering experience.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, design techniques, and MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills.

Valued but Not Required

• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam completion and Engineer in Training designation.
• Proficiency with additional programs like AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.
• Experience with engineering calculations documentation.
• Familiarity with relevant standards such as NESC, IEC, IEEE, etc.
