Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to lead overhead and underground line projects from concept through construction, covering voltages from 4 kV to 500 kV and 69 kV to 230 kV underground systems. You will collaborate with teams to meet schedule, budget, and safety goals.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree with 3–5 years of post-graduate design experience and proficiency in PLS, Sag10, AutoCAD or MicroStation, plus familiarity with NESC, CPUC, ASCE, and RUS

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of post-graduation design experience.
• Ability to inform design process based on prior project experience.
• Familiar with US codes and standards for transmission lines (NESC, CPUC, ASCE, RUS).

Role: Transmission Line Engineer

Salary: $100,000-$140,000

Location: Houston, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Texas

Benefits: This role is eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401k and PTO.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Detail engineering and design of overhead transmission line projects from conceptual design through construction from 4kV to 500kV.
• Detail design of underground transmission line projects from 69kV to 230kV.
• Ability to take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

• 4 year degree from an accredited college or university in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and 3 - 5 years of applicable post-graduation design experience.
• Ability to inform design process based on previous experience with similar projects.
• Strong proficiency using PLS software suite, Sag10, AutoCAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiar with applicable codes, standards and regulations required to design transmission lines in the United States, including publications from NESC, CPUC, ASCE, RUS,
