Job summary

Commonwealth Associates, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to grow from foundational engineering to lead projects, managing scoping through construction.

Under seasoned mentors, you will serve as a primary client contact and coordinate across Right-of-Way, Environmental, Station Engineering, Telecom, and Construction. You will also design foundations using MFAD, and produce load sheets and IFC specification books for custom steel poles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 2–4 years of transmission line engineering experience.
• Proficiency in PLS Cadd; MFAD is preferred; EIT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead project scoping phases and see projects through to closure.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and cross-functional teams (Right-of-Way, Environmental, Station Engineering, Telecom, and Construction).
• Conduct construction site visits to ensure design compliance (under senior mentorship).
• Design foundations utilizing MFAD software.
• Produce load sheets and detailed drawings for custom steel poles.
• Develop comprehensive material lists and IFC specification books.

The Role

As a Transmission Line Engineer, you will transition from foundational engineering to leading your own projects. Working under the mentorship of seasoned industry experts, you will manage the full project lifecycle—from initial scoping to final construction. This role serves as a primary stakeholder contact, offering a unique blend of technical design and project leadership.

What You’ll Do
