Jobot is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to support the design and execution of high-voltage transmission projects. This role will focus on overhead transmission line engineering, including structure design, routing, conductor selection, plan and profile development, and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3+ years of transmission line design experience.
• PE License preferred or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
• Experience designing overhead transmission systems in a utility, consulting, or EPC environment.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and related transmission design software.
• Strong understanding of transmission line routing, conductor selection, structure spotting, foundations, and construction considerations.
• Familiarity with industry standards including NESC, ASCE, IEEE, ANSI, and related codes.
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering and design for transmission line projects from 34.5kV through 500kV.
• Develop cost-effective, constructible transmission line designs.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design packages, and construction documents.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and technical execution.
• Coordinate with clients, project teams, and other engineering disciplines.
• Review and develop material takeoffs and project deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and applicable engineering codes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers as experience allows.
• Support project meetings, client interactions, and occasional field activities.
• Travel periodically in support of project and client needs.

• Multi-state utility or EPC project experience
• Knowledge of substation structures, foundations, and site development
• Experience leading project tasks, design teams, or client-facing initiatives
• Ability to independently execute transmission line design projects from concept through construction support

Salary: $110,000 - $200,000 per year
