Duration: 12+ Months

Note: Hybrid - at least 3 days a week onsite

Job Description:

• This position provides design, engineering, and technical expertise for transmission line design, primarily supporting the Client’s Carolinas West region.
• Applicants must be familiar with transmission line engineering theories and principles and proficient in engineering practices to solve complex problems.
• Employees at this level solve complex problems, manage work, and provide leadership in engineering areas with minimal supervision and increased autonomy.
• They serve in lead roles, providing guidance to others, and are expected to have advanced skills and the ability to work independently.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program and/or a PE license.
• A Master's degree in Engineering may substitute for a B.S. degree.
• 10+ years of related work experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Skilled in transmission line design theories, principles, and software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, PLS-Pole, and Foundation Design Software.
• Strong understanding of engineering theories and principles.
• Experience in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, and making recommendations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Principles of project management.
• Experience in the utility industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering expertise in transmission line design, including routing, structural design, and construction support.
• Analyze scenarios, evaluate options, and perform design calculations adhering to standards and codes.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities to ensure project and business goals are met.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, calculations, and drawings; recommend process improvements.
• Manage complex projects, applying technical expertise and coordinating efforts.
• Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures; stay updated on new technologies and methods.
• Develop positive working relationships and coordinate activities effectively.
• Work collaboratively with diverse individuals and maintain accurate records.
• Mentor and coach engineering and non-engineering professionals.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
