Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a Transmission Line Design Engineer in the Oakland area. This hybrid role connects remote work with the assigned service territory to deliver reliable electric transmission projects.

You will design transmission structures, coordinate multidisciplinary reviews, and prepare drawings in MicroStation and PLS-CADD while ensuring safety and compliance with PG&E standards. Travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent by June 2026, or combination of education and six years' design drafting/engineering experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver's License by day 1 of hire.
PE/EIT certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Actively promote safe practices and conduct in accordance with the Corporate Safety policy.
Achieve the department goal of zero injuries and avoidable auto incidents.
Foster teamwork and innovation to complete work efficiently.
Coordinate project information for engineering and construction of electric transmission facilities.
Prepare Electrical Transmission design drawings using MicroStation, and PLS-CADD.
Prepare bill of materials, conductor studies, reports, and presentations.
