Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Transmission Line Crew Supervisor to oversee field work for transmission line construction, operation, and maintenance. You will ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards and develop plans based on maintenance requirements.

You will provide training and guidance, promote teamwork, and organize planning meetings with company and contract personnel to ensure safe, efficient operations. Strong leadership and travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Minimum of five years' experience in Transmission operations, construction or maintenance.
• Thorough knowledge of line construction and maintenance activities, gained through roles such as Transmission Line Mechanic A, Transmission Construction Representative or Transmission Maintenance Coordinator.
• Travel requirements expected > 50% of the time; considerable travel may be required.
• Major enabling competencies: flexibility, communication, creativity, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that those performing construction and/or maintenance activities adhere to AEP policies, standards, and rules of the company and regulatory agencies.
• Develop construction and/or maintenance plans by establishing measurable goals and objectives based upon maintenance requirements.
• Provide training, guidance, and performance improvement projects/activities for employees in the organization.
• Promote professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to standards.
• Organize and conduct planning meetings covering scheduling, construction and/or maintenance of equipment with applicable company and contract personnel.
• Make effective recommendations for employment, promotion, discipline, and discharge of personnel assigned.
• Direct personnel as assigned in the performance of their duties as stated in their job description.
• Procure materials, tools and equipment as required.
• Responsible for the proper and safe use of tools and equipment, the safety, welfare and training of personnel assigned.
• Understand and apply the provisions of applicable labor agreements or employee handbook supplements where applicable.

Compensation Range: $140,000.00 - $140,000.00
