Job summary

Arizona Generation and Transmission Cooperatives is seeking an experienced Journeyman Lineman team lead to direct safety-focused maintenance, inspection and construction activity across high voltage transmission systems. You will supervise crews, schedule work, and ensure adherence to safety standards while coordinating with the Manager.

The role requires a valid four-year apprenticeship, five years line experience, and the ability to obtain an AZ Class A CDL within a year.

Qualifications

• Completion of a four-year apprenticeship recognized by State Apprenticeship Council.
• Minimum of four years experience in hotline bare hand work on high voltage and extra high voltage electric power transmission systems.
• Journeyman lineman with at least 5 years experience in electrical utility operations.
• Ability to obtain an Arizona Class A Commercial Driver's License within one year from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily, weekly, monthly and annual work activities and ensure staffing, materials and tools are allocated for timely completion.
• Provide clear directions to crewmembers to complete maintenance, inspection or construction tasks and monitor productivity.
• Lead and train all assigned crewmembers in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
• Promote and maintain safe working conditions and enforce PPE usage.
• Coordinate work activities and capital projects with Operations and other departments as needed; adjust plans for weather or equipment issues.
• Ensure good housekeeping of equipment, tools, vehicles and work sites.
• Perform switching on power delivery systems and conduct live-line/bare-hand work per established procedures.
