Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Transmission Production Cost Modeling Analyst to shape the future of our electric power system. You will prepare and direct economic transmission planning efforts using PROMOD and other tools to support regulatory filings and reduce customer costs.

Responsibilities include developing forecasts, producing cost inputs, and providing independent evaluations of regional transmission plans.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing transmission systems, with 3 years in wholesale energy markets using financial tools/production simulation software.
• Strong quantitative analysis skills and knowledge of transmission planning tools and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Develop energy market forecasts for electric transmission development to support long-range plans and regulatory filings.
• Contribute to direct testimony and respond to regulatory information requests related to wholesale energy market plans.
• Perform independent analyses of regional transmission plans and evaluate congestion costs and mitigation opportunities.
