Position Summary

As a Transmission Coordinator at Oncor, you’ll work from the office and in the field to support the development and maintenance of project construction schedules and related documents. The role requires frequent on‑site visits regardless of weather, the ability to resolve issues remotely or in person, and the flexibility to adjust project timelines on short notice. You will report to the Transmission Construction Manager and collaborate with engineers, contractors, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects progress safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret transmission project plans and evaluate construction needs.
  • Conduct field visits, develop detailed construction schedules and work‑sequence documents.
  • Identify transmission facilities to be de‑energized, schedule outages, and prioritize conflicts.
  • Maintain construction schedules and sequence documents to minimize facility outages and system risks.
  • Develop remediation plans and adjust work‑sequence documents based on new information from pre‑construction meetings.
  • Coordinate meetings (district status, pre‑bid, pre‑construction, customer‑related) and provide solutions to identified issues.
  • Communicate overall project status and maintain relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Advise construction contractors on alternative work plans to keep schedules on track.
  • Obtain line and equipment clearances and holds from Transmission Grid Management.
  • Submit and update project Network Operations Model Change Request (NOMCR) information.
  • Review end‑of‑construction projects for completeness and develop resolution plans if needed.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks to maintain project schedules.
  • Recommend process improvements to the Transmission Construction Manager.
  • Apply Oncor Transmission and Contractor Safety Handbook requirements.
  • Use office and company programs (Office Suite, FIM, TMS, ProjectWise, ITOA, Oncor scheduling tools) and other software platforms.
  • Perform all essential aspects of the job and any additional specific responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Business are encouraged to apply.
  • For Transmission Coordinator: 2+ years of experience in transmission operations, construction, or engineering.
  • For Senior Transmission Coordinator: 4+ years of experience in transmission operations, construction, or engineering.
  • Design, construction management, and operation of electric grid experience is a plus.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Basic knowledge of transmission line and substation construction activities and materials.
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing large projects or programs.
