Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) seeks an experienced Transmissions Analyst 1 for an eighteen-month contract in the Birmingham, AL area. The role involves closeout management, variance analysis, and reporting across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management to ensure projects are completed and placed in service.

The ideal candidate has a two-year technical degree with related work experience; a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields may be preferred.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree from a technical school/university with related work experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering or Engineering Technology may be preferred.
• Prior experience managing transmission capital projects is preferred.
• Prior experience in transmission substation and/or transmission line design and/or construction is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with substation and/or transmission line design, construction, operation and/or maintenance.
• Knowledge of materials used in construction of transmission substation and/or transmission line projects.
• Understanding of substation and/or transmission line construction scope, equipment, and associated costs.
• Experience with TEAMS, Maximo, Vault and/or PowerPlan is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the capital project closeout process for the Transmission Engineering organization in accordance with established procedures.
• Research and resolve variances between actuals and estimates.
• Close capital projects and track closeout status.
• Provide business reports and maintain documentation.
• Develop and leverage relationships with stakeholders involved in design and construction of transmission projects.
