Job summary

Railserve is hiring dependable, safety-focused Transloaders in Port Arthur, TX to support daily rail and material handling operations. This is a full-time, outdoor, hands-on role critical to keeping railcars moving safely and efficiently.

In this entry-level position, training is provided for individuals who are reliable, safety-minded, and willing to learn. Four day on/off blocks and 12-hour shifts are required, with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to lift, carry, and handle equipment.
• Able to climb on/off railcars, ladders, and platforms.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify railcar numbers and placement according to instructions.
• Assist with loading and unloading railcars using established procedures.
• Connect and disconnect hoses, valves, and transfer equipment.
• Operate switches, derails, and trackside equipment.
• Control movement of equipment using radio, hand signals, and visual indicators.
• Couple and uncouple railcars; handle air hoses and wheel chocks.
• Apply and release hand brakes to secure equipment.
• Inspect equipment and work areas for safety and cleanliness.
• Monitor operations and report any issues or hazards.
• Assist with basic locomotive and rail operations as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
