Overview
The Translator provides translation services to individuals with language barriers across Education, Legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services, etc. This position performs all duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately translated lectures, conversations, meetings, medical, and/or legal content.
- Remain HIPAA compliant when interpreting or translating in healthcare settings.
- Abide by the client’s policies.
- Abide by the American Translators Association Code of Ethics.
- Render a complete and accurate translation without altering, omitting, or adding any content, and without explanation.
- Be culturally sensitive to the source and target languages during the translation process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:
- High School diploma or equivalent in years of experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Certified Translation Professional.
- Translation Certifications.
- Certifications from a previous agency or accreditation from a translation program.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Must be fluent in one or more of the following languages: Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Burmese, Cantonese, Chin Hakka, Dari, Farsi/Persian, French, German, Gujarati, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Nepali, Pashto, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Somali, Tagalog, Tigrinya, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, Vietnamese, Traditional Chinese, and ASL.
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
Minimum Skills Required
- The ability to facilitate translation with discretion and impartiality.
- Proficiency in written communication.
- A broad knowledge base across topics.
- Cultural awareness when translating for different regions.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Adobe toolsets (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.).
- Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in a related field.
- Medical translation: medical interpreter certificate from either the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters or the National Certification for Medical Interpreters.
- 2 years of Legal translation experience.
- 2 years of Medical translation experience.
- American Translators Association Certification.
- Court-certified translator certificate.

Deputy Program Manager
Working Conditions
- Professional remote environment.
- Must be on-call; translator notified within 48 hours of potential jobs.
- Physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods.
- Proficient with computer and office productivity tools with sufficient speed.
- Able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
- Able to sit for long periods looking at a computer screen.
- May work a flexible schedule, including holidays, and hours outside normal business hours.

Pay Range
USD $45.00 - USD $65.00 /Hr.
