Job summary

Utah State University is seeking a meticulous Laboratory Technician III at the Logan campus to support translational pharmacology research in the CVM. You will operate LC-MS/MS, perform in vitro assays, manage samples, and contribute to GLP-aligned documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a science-related field and two years of related laboratory technician experience, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, or related field.
  • Experience with chromatography and/or mass spectrometry workflows.
  • GLP-aligned documentation knowledge or LIMS experience.
  • Experience with veterinary or animal-related sample workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Operate LC-MS/MS workflows for quantification of drugs and metabolites in biological matrices.
  • Perform molecular biology, biochemical, and in vitro drug metabolism and pharmacology assays.
  • Handle biological samples per SOPs and study protocols; assist with sample collection when needed.
  • Maintain inventory, equipment, safety documentation, and lab organization.
  • Record and organize data, instrument logs, and other study documentation.
  • Train and support researchers in lab safety and procedures after training.
  • Present data and contribute to discussions at lab meetings.
  • Support additional lab, research, or administrative duties.
