Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital invites applications for an Associate Scientist or Scientist to lead an independent translational program. The role focuses on restoring function in impaired neuronal circuits using mouse models of 22q11.2 deletion syndrome and 3q29 deletion syndrome, addressing high genetic risk areas for schizophrenia.

Ph.D. in neuroscience or related field preferred, with strong molecular biology, ASO biochemistry, delivery/validation, or imaging experience.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and supporting research experiments.
• Guiding and training other laboratory personnel.
• Proven performance in earlier role or comparable role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates multiple aspects of research projects and carries out experiments with diverse techniques.
• Inputs on protocols and assists in developing new laboratory methods.
• Organizes data, monitors quality and integrity, and reports results.
• Drafts sections of research manuscripts as needed.
• Maintains lab operations, inventory, and equipment calibration; troubleshoots issues.
• Instructs staff in basic laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Maintains regular attendance and supports department goals.
