Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital seeks an Associate Scientist or Scientist to lead an independent translational neuroscience program using mouse models of 22q11.2 and 3q29 deletion syndromes to study neurodevelopmental risk for schizophrenia.

Candidates with Ph.D. in neuroscience or related fields and strong background in molecular biology, ASO biochemistry, delivery, and validation assays or in vivo imaging and viral delivery are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific area is required.
• Ph.D. in neuroscience or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of research experience for Associate Scientist; 8+ years for Scientist.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates multiple aspects of research projects and performs experiments with various techniques.
• Develops new protocols and assists in validating laboratory methods.
• Processes and summarizes data, reporting results and maintaining data integrity.
• Drafts sections of research manuscripts.
• Maintains lab operations including equipment maintenance and purchasing.
• Trains and mentors other laboratory personnel.
