Job summary

The Wang Lab at University of California, San Francisco is seeking a highly motivated Junior Specialist to participate in translational neuroscience, human neurophysiology, and basic science research focused on understanding neural and immune mechanisms underlying neurological disease and movement disorders.

The long-term goal is to inform targeted therapies, including immune-modulating treatments that bypass the blood-brain barrier.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required or four years of research experience.
• Experience with basic wet lab techniques such as molecular biology methods, pipetting, sample processing, and cell preparation/storage.
• Familiarity with clinical/translational research workflows including patient consenting, biospecimen collection, and coordination between clinical and research sites.

Responsibilities

• Consent research participants and coordinate biospecimen collection.
• Assist intraoperative and clinical neurophysiology data collection.
• Process, store, and organize biological samples; coordinate sample transport.
• Contribute to data interpretation, figure preparation, and manuscript development.
