Job summary

The Bureau of Indian Education is seeking a dedicated classroom teacher to deliver instruction under the TEACHER, CY-1710 framework in a federally funded setting.

You will prepare outlines, develop lessons, assess student progress, and maintain required records while pursuing State licensure and adherence to federal pay scales and policies. Benefits are provided for federal employees and positions support the agency's mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) from an accredited education institution.
• Proof of enrollment in a local State's alternative teaching licensure/certificate program within 90 days of the start date of the position.
• Enrollment should be for the appropriate endorsement/subject field as identified in the Job Opportunity Announcement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare yearly instructional outlines and daily lesson plans with objectives, activities, and evaluative methods.
• Teach using appropriate instructional methods to develop cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills.
• Continuously evaluate progress using standardized tests and other assessments; use alternative instruction as needed.
• Maintain progress reports and records; confer with parents and other concerned individuals.
• Maintain control of class and provide counseling within guidelines.

Education
