Job description

Description

Provide supervision, support, and training to people with differing abilities served by Lumibility through group instruction. Implement activities that are person-centered and promote positive outcomes based on individual and group-focused goals. Create an environment and provide supports to promote social skills and positive behaviors, enhancing skills, enriching lives, and fostering community participation.

Pay Rate: $19.50/hour

Hours: M-F, 40 hours per week, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served, in accordance with their service plans and agency policies.
  • Supervise, guide, and instruct individuals at community assessment sites and during structured curriculum-based activities under the Transitional Services program.
  • Support services may include supervision, behavioral interventions, team meetings, skill development, and effective communication.
  • Provide transportation for individuals, following Lumibility's safe-driving policies.
  • Familiarize yourself with community assessment sites to provide effective supervision.
  • Maintain accurate medical, social, and programmatic records, including progress notes, behavioral data, attendance, and other documentation.
  • Develop positive relationships with participants, families, co-workers, and community members.
  • Perform other duties and work at various locations as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Knowledge of learning and behavioral processes is helpful. Must be over 18, possess a valid Connecticut driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and be able to use your own vehicle for work purposes as per Lumibility’s policies.

  • Proficiency in operating office equipment, computers, and software.
  • Ability to implement programs and activities outlined in support plans.
  • Effective communication skills, courteous and professional.
  • Ability to write clearly and maintain accurate records.
  • Capacity to attend to the physical and personal needs of adults with differing abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to guide and instruct adults with challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to use adaptive equipment.
  • Patience and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to drive and travel as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, squat, and crouch. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and driving multi-passenger vehicles for extended periods.
