Your Responsibilities:

Instructional Vision

  • Teach a self-contained TK class and serve as lead for aides and staff supporting TK.
  • Support coaching of TK aides and participate in curriculum and instruction planning committees.
  • Engage in culturally responsive pedagogy with high expectations and assets-based approaches.
  • Plan and implement standards-based curriculum, differentiating for all student subgroups.
  • Utilize assessments to identify and support student growth.

Classroom & School Culture

  • Maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom culture.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Professional Practices

  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrate advocacy, flexibility, and self-awareness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree required.
  • California Teaching Credential or ability to acquire one.
  • Valid Certificate of Clearance.
  • Knowledge of California Standards, mastery-based learning, curriculum planning, and data analysis preferred.
  • 2+ years teaching urban youth preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Environmental & Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in loud environments, adapt to weather conditions, and meet physical demands such as lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for extended periods.

Supervision & Schedule:

Report to the principal or assistant principal. Full-time, 10-month schedule, with some evening events and common building hours.

Compensation & Application:
