Job summary

Kaiser Permanente seeks an experienced nurse leader to direct and coordinate comprehensive patient care within the health care team. You will develop individualized care plans, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to standards of practice while maintaining safety and patient confidentiality.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and communication across departments, with emphasis on accountability and quality improvement. Includes weekend coverage as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• 1 year recent (within last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in a Critical Care, DOU or SDU setting, or completion of KP Critical Care, DOU or SDU course (as applicable) within prior 12 months.
• Registered Nurse License (California)
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Basic Arrhythmia course required

Responsibilities

• Leads and delegates tasks within the health care team and demonstrates accountability.
• Develops and contributes to the individualized plan of care reflecting assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating outcomes.
• Ensures care meets standards of practice and maintains patient safety and discharge planning.
• Practices customer service standards and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Mentors, orients, and coaches new employees and students.
• Maintains an effective, collaborative, safe work environment across shifts.
• Fosters communication via chain of command and escalation when needed.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities.
