Job summary

Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (0.7 FTE) to provide direct patient care in the Transitional Care unit. The role requires active RN licensure in Kentucky and obtaining a BSN within five years.

The nurse will apply critical thinking to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, support discharge planning, and educate patients and families according to age and culture.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's degree or Nursing Diploma at hire; BSN must be obtained within 5 years.
• Current RN license in Kentucky; BLS required within 45 days.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and decisive judgment.
• Must meet Nurse Practice Act requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Coordinates patient care with all disciplines for discharge planning.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Adheres to safety, quality and high-reliability standards.
