Transition to Nursing Practice Program for New Graduate RN’s
The Transition to Nursing Practice (TNP) Program at Boston Children’s Hospital is nationally accredited by the ANCC PTAP (American Nurses Credentialing Center Practice Transition Accreditation Program) as a nurse residency program designed for newly licensed RNs.
The program is 12 months long and focuses on transitioning from student to professional nurse. It runs five times per year with start dates in March, May, August, September, and November. Newly licensed nurses are hired directly into practice settings by a hiring manager.
The TNP Program combines classroom education, support, and precepted shifts to help newly licensed nurses develop into independent, competent pediatric nurses.
