Job description

Mill Creek, LLC handles the planning, procurement and installation and transition of furnishings and equipment for healthcare and government facilities across the nation. We currently are in need of a Transition Planner to manage the transition services for potential healthcare renovations, commercial construction and hospitality projects. This is a REMOTE opportunity with up to 50% of travel to sites being transitioned.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Transition Planning, consulting, research and analysis support for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment in healthcare and government environments.
  • Able to assist with the development of comprehensive inventories, equipment utilization, equipment procurement, preparation of corresponding plans/drawings, budgets and reports, and delivery and installation supervision.
  • Generate and update master transition schedules in coordination with the construction schedule.
  • Identify timelines, milestones, and critical paths required to execute the tasks and the resources necessary to complete User moves to temporary facilities and final transition into new space.
  • Prepare detailed implementation plans, schedule, and move sequencing.
  • Work with the User and Design Build team to obtain information including review of space, existing inventory, selection of new equipment and furniture/fixtures necessary for the space allocated for remodel or construction
  • Conduct on-site user meetings during the planning and implementation stages.
  • Schedule and oversee on-site vendor installation of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment.
  • Facilitate owner punch walk-throughs.
  • On-site move management which may include bid preparation, evaluation of bids, and vendor selection for mover/warehouse provider.
  • Oversee the equipment storage and warehousing process

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field.
  • Seven or more years of experience with the successful completion of healthcare projects as an I/O Transition Planner/Move Manager.
  • Federal Government I/O Transition Planning experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Project.
  • Must be proficient with scheduling software – MS Project or P6.
  • Must be familiar with LEED requirements and hospital codes. LEED AP is strongly preferred.
  • Must demonstrate construction and IO-T industry knowledge while performing job duties.
  • Must have analytical skills and an apt for making sound judgment decisions.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and a professional attitude towards colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in time management, organization, planning and prioritization.
  • Proven initiative, positive attitude, team oriented, self-motivated and highly enthusiastic.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to travel for long periods of time – on-site office required on key transition moves.
  • Ability to navigate through a construction site.
  • Ability to communicate in person, by phone and electronically.
  • Could have exposure to loud noises, narrow rooms, and changes in weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform light physical work, including lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds.
