Job description

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions as a vital member of the healthcare team, contributing to the success of the practice through customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork. The LPN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to specific patient populations and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Performs basic nursing care to patients following established standards and procedures.
  2. Collects patient data such as vital signs, observations on patient appearance and response to stimuli, and reports this information accordingly.
  3. Prepares and administers injections, performs routine tests, treats wounds, and changes bandages.
  4. Prepares patient records and files using established medical record forms or automated systems and documentation practices.
  5. Administers prescribed medications, monitors, and documents treatment progress and patient responses.
  6. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and legal regulations.
  7. Communicates health status, maintenance, and management of conditions to patients and families.
  8. Participates in team efforts to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Licensure:
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
  • Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse license from the state licensing board.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR (Basic Life Support) certification.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting.
