Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning seeks a Transition Assistant Teacher to help young adults with disabilities develop skills for employment and independent living. You will work with the Director of Transition Services to provide instruction, coordinate vocational training, and support participants in meeting personalized goals.

The role blends education, employment coaching, mentorship, and job coaching within Aspire's community-based model, with a Monday-Friday schedule in Guilford, CT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation, Psychology, Human Services, Education, or a related field preferred.
• Associate degree with relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or autism.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and coordinate vocational training experiences.
• Supervise community-based employment opportunities.
• Support participants in achieving individualized goals and work with the Director of Transition Services.
