Job summary

Sedalia 200 School District is seeking a dedicated professional to support McKinney-Vento students district-wide. You will provide intensive case management to ensure access to resources and opportunities needed to succeed academically.

You will collaborate with district social workers and counselors to promote school stability, guide college and career transitions, and assist families with enrollment, FAFSA, and available services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, education, counseling, human services, or related field preferred.
• Substitute Certification or eligible to obtain.
• Bilingual certification is encouraged, but not required.
• Understanding of McKinney-Vento Act and transitions for homeless students.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and family records.
• Ability to organize and guide students through transitions.
• Ethical and professional attitude toward colleagues and policies.

Responsibilities

• Possess understanding of youth and families experiencing homelessness and housing instability.
• Provide intensive case management for McKinney-Vento students to access resources and opportunities.
• Collaborate with district social workers and counselors to support students.
• Support school stability and post-secondary transitions for students.
• Facilitate warm handoffs and seamless intake during moves between schools.
• Guide McKinney-Vento students in college, career training, and workforce entry.
• Assist seniors with FAFSA, scholarships, and fee waivers.
• Connect families with housing, health, and other district services.
• Conduct home visits and act as liaison between home and district.
• Assist enrollment, school placement, and maintaining stability in school of origin.
