Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred in Social Work, Education, Counseling, Human Services, or related field.
• Substitute Certification or eligibility to obtain.
• Bilingual certification encouraged but not required.
• Understanding of the McKinney-Vento Act and community-school relationships.
• Ability to make thoughtful decisions based on facts and insight.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of student and family records.
• Organize, plan effectively, and guide students through transitions.

Responsibilities

• Possess a thorough understanding of youth and families experiencing homelessness.
• Provide intensive, individualized case management for McKinney-Vento students.
• strings and collaborate with district social workers and counselors.
• Support school stability and post-secondary transitions.
• Facilitate warm handoffs and intake processes during moves between schools.
• Guide seniors in college applications, FAFSA, and scholarships.
• Connect families with housing, health, and social services.
• Conduct home visits and act as liaison between home and school district.
