Job summary

RailWorks Corporation is seeking a Safety Program Manager to oversee company safety programs across project sites, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws. You will lead training, incident investigations, and contractor safety coordination to maintain a safe working environment for employees and partners.

Responsibilities include implementing policies, inspecting sites, documenting hazards, and reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety or a related science field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety positions in the construction industry.
• NYCT Track Safety trained.
• Minimum of 90 days NYCT Right of Way experience with flagging/diversions.
• 40-hour NYC-DoB Site Safety Manager Course.
• 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health (29 CFR 1926).
• Active member of American Society of Safety Professionals.
• Current NYS DOL Asbestos Inspector License.
• Current C-3/C-5 Supervisor/Competent Person Training for De-leading.

Responsibilities

• Implements and manages safety policies in compliance with OSHA rules.
• Administers project safety, accidents, and hazard communications programs.
• Corrects unsafe employee activities and practices.
• Inspects work locations for hazards.
• Documents unsafe conditions and follows up on corrective actions.
• Evaluates contractors’ safety programs and implements changes.
• Investigates accidents and injuries at sites.
• Provides regular worksite safety training for staff at all levels.
• Maintains records and reports for compliance.
• Hires, trains, and manages safety staff.
• Ensures safety signage and barriers are in place.
