Job summary

Georgia Department of Transportation is seeking a Transit Special Projects Manager & Rail Development Specialist to develop a rail capital program and support transit projects. The role allocates roughly 30% of time to rail duties and 70% to transit-related assignments, reporting to the Transit Program Manager with a dotted line to the Rail Program Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related experience OR Associate's degree with three years of related experience or one year at a position equivalent.
• Undergraduate degree in urban or rural transportation planning or related fields preferred.
• 3 years of experience in transportation planning and/or project management.
• 3 years of experience managing a state or federal program.
• 3 years of experience collecting and analyzing data for transportation reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop rail capital program applications and support Rail Program.
• Assist Transit Program with Federal Transit Administration funding and Programs.
• Provide oversight and project management to transit agency subrecipients and contractors.
• Monitor scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects.
• Conduct site visits and verify monthly invoices and compliance with contracts.
