Job summary

Creighton Manning, a GAI company, seeks a Transit Project Lead (Engineer or Planner) with 10+ years of experience for our Albany, Poughkeepsie, Syracuse or White Plains offices. You will collaborate with traffic engineers, planners and clients on bus-related planning, station design and multimodal projects.

The role requires professional licensure (AICP or PE), NY transit project experience, and willingness to travel for meetings.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a transit planning/engineering role.
• Professional licensure/certifications in related planning and engineering disciplines (AICP, PE).
• Experience on public transportation projects, preferably with NYS authorities.
• FTA experience is a plus.
• Active member of a professional practice organization.

Responsibilities

• Investigate options to improve efficiency in bus service and network redesign.
• Bus rapid transit experience.
• Evaluate bus operations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Design bus facilities including maintenance yards and bus stops.
• Lead intermediate and limited complex transportation planning and/or engineering assignments.
• Lead or assist with multidisciplinary projects involving architecture, mechanical and structural disciplines.
• Prepare conceptual plans, graphics and documents.
• Lead project and/or public meetings.
• Prepare reports for related projects.
• Represent the organization in communications and conferences on public transportation planning/engineering.
• Assume client relations and financial responsibilities for routine projects.
• Develop and review project documents for scope, conformity and quality.
• Work with accounting to complete monthly invoicing for projects.
• Assist with project management duties including staffing, scope, schedule and budget development.
• Assist with business development activities, including proposal preparation.
• Check planning and designs prepared by others.
• Direct coordination with clients.

Job description

We are seeking a qualified Transit Project Lead (Engineer or Planner) with ten (10) plus years' experience to become a part of our established Transit Group for our Albany, Poughkeepsie, Syracuse or White Plains Offices. This position will work on a variety of projects and interact with traffic engineers, highway engineers, transportation planners and our clients. Projects generally focus on bus related planning and infrastructure, and can include transportation and transit planning, station design, highway design, facilities and site design, alternatives analysis and concept development, and construction coordination. The position may require efforts outside normal business hours to travel, meet client requests and/or attend meetings. A background and a desire to improve our public transportation systems is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

• Work with accounting to complete monthly invoicing for projects.
• Assist with project management duties - staffing, scope, schedule and budget development

Job Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
• A professional licensure and/or certifications in related planning and engineering disciplines. (AICP, PE)
• The candidate must have experience working on public transportation projects in some capacity, preferably with New York State public transportation authorities and
• FTA experience a plus.
• Active member of a professional practice organization.

Pay Range:

Albany/Syracuse, NY: $48/hour - $62.50/hour

Poughkeepsie, NY: $52/hour - $68/hour

White Plains, NY: $55/hour - $72/hour

Pay is based on applicant's ability/experience and will be rated accordingly.
