Job summary

City of Inglewood seeks a transportation driver to move seniors, disabled persons and volunteers on scheduled routes within Inglewood. Under supervision, you will perform pre-trip checks and operate buses/vans with wheelchair lifts to ensure safe, on-time service.

Job description

Under close supervision, transports seniors, disabled persons, and volunteers to and from scheduled destinations throughout the City of Inglewood.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHERCHARACTERISTICS

• Knowledge ofroad, vehicle, and driving laws and regulations, general preventative maintenance, operation and handling of buses/vans, wheelchair lifts, and safety restraints, file and records management;
• Skilled intransporting passengers in a timely and safe manner, following oral and written instructions, establishing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with both external and internal customers
• Ability toperform essential duties with little supervision, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and speak English and a second language (Spanish preferably)
