Job summary

Clallam Transit System is seeking a qualified driver to operate public transit vehicles within the Port Angeles area. The role focuses on safety, timeliness, and professional passenger service while supporting CTS’s mission to improve mobility and quality of life.

The position includes paid CDL training, strong health and retirement benefits, holiday and leave accruals, and a wage scale with annual increases. This is a full-time, on-site role with union representation.

Position Overview

Responsible for operating public transit vehicles to transport passengers to various destinations within the service area in a safe, timely, and professional manner. This position provides critical contributions to support Clallam Transit System’s (CTS) mission to enhance quality of life, bolster mobility, and create opportunities through transit.

Summary of Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or high school equivalency.
• Five consecutive years of licensed driving experience.
• A valid driver's license or ability to obtain. Meet all requirements and obtain a class B Washington State commercial driver's license (CDL), with proper licensure, during training period.
• Paid training is provided at Clallam Transit System for obtaining the required CDL.

Summary of Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with CTS policy and federal regulations. Represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 587.

$27.57 - $34.46 an hour

Starting wage is $27.57 per hour with set pay increases annually for cost of living and work anniversaries. The current wage scale expires December 31, 2026, and we anticipate an updated one will be available soon.
