Job summary

Hatch in Washington, DC is seeking a Manager for Bus Operations and Service Planning to lead projects across bus operations, maintenance, and service planning. You will guide cost estimates, fleet planning, and paratransit solutions for clients, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, strong client relations, and proven capability to develop and implement innovative transit solutions in a dynamic consulting environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in planning or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• Experience working with major transit agencies.
• Experience managing bus fleet maintenance, quality control, and/or overhauls.
• Experience completing network redesigns of bus networks.
• Experience planning for new BRT service.
• Experience with business development and proposal development for consulting work.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects related bus operations, maintenance, quality control and service planning.
• Provide technical expertise to support cross-discipline project teams planning, designing and implementing bus and paratransit solutions for our clients.
• Complete cost estimates associated with planned projects.
• Serve as subject matter expert on bus fleet planning.
• Develop cost estimates and life cycle analyses to assess existing bus operations.
• Review technical documents such as design plans and other engineering related deliverables.
• Produce quality assurance plans and oversee quality control programs.
• Prepare technical documents/reports and present to clients, project teams, etc.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships.
• Continuous, effective communication and relationship building with clients in the development and implementation of projects.
• Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
